This 13-year-old Invergordon was matured for 3 months in an Octave cask, which was pre-filled with Palo Cortado sherry. In the Octave series, independent bottler Duncan Taylor experiments with the influence of cask size on maturation. At around 50 litres, Octave casks are only a fraction of the size of the usual cask sizes. As a result, the whisky has more contact with the cask surface and matures more intensively. The sweet, light house style of the Highlands' only Grain Distillery is ideally complemented by creamy caramel notes and tropical fruit flavours. The newly designed and modern label provides variety and shows a scenic motif in a woodcut look.

Invergordon is a fairly new distillery, having only been founded in 1960, with the intention of being a large-scale grain Whisky production. Invergordon Distillers Ltd established the distillery, and it began with only one tall column still. In 1963, two more column stills were added, and in 1978, a final, much larger one was added.
