Legend has it that a spark of sunlight once fell from the sky over the Scottish island of Islay, igniting a massive fire that set the land ablaze. From the ashes of the scorched earth, the "King of Islay" finally rose - depicted as a majestic phoenix, a symbol of rebirth, strength and the unmistakable depth of character of this special bottling. De Distilleerderij: Lagavulin

Die schottische Malt Whisky Brennerei Lagavulin liegt auf der Südseite der Insel Islay, zwischen den Destillerien Laphroaig und Ardbeg. Lagavulin, ausgesprochen Lagga-voulin, kommt aus dem Gälischen und bedeutet in etwa: 'Senke, in der die Mühle steht'.
