The Nikka Miyagikyo 10 Year Old is an elegant Single Malt Japanese Whisky from the traditional Miyagikyo Distillery, which is finally celebrating its comeback after a ten-year break. This limited bottling will initially be released in just 9,000 bottles for Europe, making it one of the most sought-after collector's items in the Japanese whisky segment. The distillery is located in a lush green valley near Sendai and is known for its soft, fruit-driven style, which differs significantly from the more powerful character of other Nikka bottlings. Typical of the Miyagikyo Distillery are the high pot stills and the intense copper contact, which give the distillate its special lightness and aromatic clarity. This 10-year-old Single Malt was matured exclusively in selected oak barrels, which gives it additional structure, fine vanilla notes and a gentle spiciness. As a Japanese whisky, Nikka Miyagikyo impresses with a harmonious interplay of fruit, elegance and subtle wood flavours and impressively underlines the characteristic style of the Miyagikyo Distillery within the Nikka range.
