The Starward Solera is an Australian single malt that is matured in Apera red wine casks from a small Australian winery. Australian Apera is a strong wine similar to Spanish sherry. In the warehouses in Melbourne, the whisky is exposed to strong climatic fluctuations. It is not for nothing that the city is said to experience four seasons within one day: here, arctic breezes from the south meet desert winds from the north, a climate that allows the whisky to mature very quickly and well.

De Distilleerderij: New World Distillery
Die australische Starward Brennerei mit Sitz in Melbourne produziert seit 2015 Whisky. Der Gründer, David Vitale, ist italienischer Abstammung, jedoch in Melbourne aufgewachsen. Seine Wurzeln sind ihm sehr wichtig, weshalb Starward Whisky ausschließlich in Rotweinfässern reift.

Kommentar: Mal was anderes aus Australien. Preis/Leistung ein wenig zu teuer.

Kommentar: So ein schöner Whisky. Sonnig, rund und warm, lässt in der Preisklasse nichts vermissen. Wie bei Starward üblich ist der Abgang weniger differenziert und die Fruchtfrische klingt lange nach.
Geschmack: schmeckt, wie es die Nase erwarten lässt. Süßfruchtig, milde Eiche & Gewürze
