This Aultmore belongs to Gordon & MacPhail's Wood Finished Connoisseurs Choice series. Bottlings of the new Connoisseurs Choice series represent single cask bottlings or batches of a few casks and special post-maturations. The labels contain detailed information on the special characteristics. A comprehensive aroma profile is now also included on the labels of the Connoisseurs Choice bottlings. This Aultmore was initially matured in refill Bourbon barrels. It was then refined for three years in strong St. Joseph red wine casks from the Rhône Valley in France.
