Balcones has already brought Texan flair to the world of whiskey with its bourbon and rye creations. With the rum made from molasses, the American producer is now launching a rum distilled on pot stills, which was allowed to mature in different barrels with different degrees of distillation before being bottled at cask strength and without added colour.

The Distillery: Balcones
The Texan Balcones Distillery was founded in Waco in 2008. Balcones distils Corn, Texas Straight Rye, Bourbon and also Single Malt Whisky. The distillery uses copper pot stills from the well-known Scottish manufacturer Forsyths - one of the few in the USA. In addition to its Whiskies, the distillery also produces the molasses-based Balcones Texas Rum.
