Product description

Bruichladdich Bere Barley is made from the so-called Bere barley. It is one of the oldest cultivated plants in Scotland. Compared to the modern Types, the yield is only half as high. The whisky made from it is therefore particularly unique. The barley comes into its own with its own flavour. Maturation took place for 10 years in first-fill American oak bourbon casks from the American distilleries Jim Beam, Jack Daniel's, Buffalo Trace and Clermont Springs.

Aroma: Sehr spritzig, fruchtig, süss in der Nase; so richtig tolle Zitrusfrüchte, aber nicht die sauren, sondern die süssen; auch etwas Vanille, und dann kommt die spezielle Gerste durch in Form von einem ganz besonderen Kräutermoment und einer Malzigkeit.

Geschmack: Im Mund dann auch wieder ein ausgesprochener Gerstenmoment; Malzigkeit, Kräuter, und dann aber auch Caramel und tropische Früchte; später sogar leicht adstringierende Zitrusfrüchte.

Abgang: Kaum Eichenmomente im Abgang, sondern die Zitrusfrüchte, die Limetten, geben den Ton an.

Kommentar: Wunderbar spannendes Experiment mit vielen Facetten.

Aroma: Banane am Kiesstrand, leich malzige Süße, ein leicht bittere Note "hinten" - ähnlich Limettenzesten

Mit etwas (sehr wenig) Wasser wird die Fruchtigkeit zu grünem Apfel.

Geschmack: langsamer Aufbau, von süß zu leichter Fruchtigkeit und frisch geschnittenem, hellen Holz und leichter Kräutrigkeit

Abgang: Mittellang, die Süße geht weiter zurück, leichtes Prickeln (fast pfeffrig) hält sich mit dem, was im Aroma die leicht bitter Note war.

Interessant, vielleicht nicht für jeden Tag. Entwickelt sich gut im Mund und hat schon auch die Laddi-Signatur. Die 50% vol. stehen ihm sehr gut, mit etwas Wasser ist eine nette Änderung beobachtbar.
