Product description
The 15-year-old from the Orkney distillery Highland Park bears the nickname 'Viking Heart'. Gordon Motion, the Master Whisky Maker at the traditional distillery, selected Single Malts from three different cask types for this: Sherry casks made from European and American oak for dry, spicy and sweet flavours. This was complemented by refill casks, which allow the character of the malt to shine through with fruit and heather peat. This popular bottling is now available in Highland Park's typical ornate glass bottle!

    Aroma: Der Whisky beginnt ziemlich deutlich mit einem Rauch und einem Heidekraut-Aroma; und man muss etwas warten bis dies verfliegt, dass man die anderen Aromen entdecken kann; er wird dann nämlich plötzlich süss und fruchtig; süss will heissen Vanille, fruchtig bedeutet eher Zitrusfrüchte.

    Geschmack: Zuerst recht milder Eindruck im Mund; dann aber öffnet sich alles; Rauch, Kräuter und Würze; später dann melden sich auch die Zitrusfrüchte wieder, und danach eine angenehme Kaffeenote.

    Abgang: Der Abgang ist dann doch recht würzig und langanhaltend.

    Kommentar: Ein typischer Highland Park, den man eigentlich auch bei einer Blindverkostung erkennen müsste; schönes Teil.
