Product description
The 11-year-old Knockdhu single malt is a very special whisky from the Cask Collection series of the independent bottler A.D. Rattray. It matured for 7 years in a bourbon hogshead and was then matured for 4 years in a wine cask, which previously contained Islay whisky. A barrique holds 225 litres. This type of cask was originally used as a transport cask for wine exports. Originally a trading company founded by Andrew Dewar Rattray, his descendant Tim Morrison developed the company into an independent bottler with its own brands. In the Cask Collection, only individual casks are bottled at cask strength. They usually only produce a few bottles. All of these whiskies are not chill-filtered and are colourless.
