Slyrs Bavarian Peat is the peated Single Malt Whisky from the distillery at Schliersee, for which barley malt from Germany was kilned over peat, which also comes from Germany. The Single Malt is bottled at 40 ppm and a sketched ram's head can be seen on the green bottle.

The Distillery: Slyrs
Located at the Schliersee lake, Slyrs Distillery ranks among the best-known whisky distilleries in Germany. Its name is derived from the old name of the region. The first Whisky was already distilled on the stills of the traditional Lantenhammer distillery in 1999, but in 2007 Slyrs Whisky found its home in the newly erected Slyrs Distillery in Neuhaus.

Kommentar: wirkt sehr jung.. fast wie new make mit Rauch, der Rauch ist lecker, kann aber den Rest nicht überdecken oder ausgleichen.. kaum Fasseinfluss, am Ende sprittig, fast schon ne alkoholische Fehlnote

Abgang: mittelang konstant
Kommentar: Der Bavarian Peat hat einen torfigen Antritt mit Röstaromen. Ist in sich stimmig, etwas süßlich würzig, nicht sprittig.
Was mir fehlt, ist der Nachklang. Die Aromen verbleiben zwar noch eine Zeit im Mundraum, aber es entwickelt/bewegt sich nichts mehr.
