Product description
For Stauning Rye, all steps from malting to bottling take place on the distillery's premises in Skjern, on Denmark's west coast. For Stauning Rye, 70% rye and 30% barley are malted on the distillery's own malting floors. After distillation in direct-fired stills, the whisky is matured for at least three years in heavily toasted American white oak casks. The bottle label was designed by the Danish artist Asbjørn Staunstrup Lund.

Kommentar: Mein 2 Stauning den ich probiert habe und dieser überzeugt auf ganzer Linie. Viel Kirsche und Frucht zieht sich durch den kompletten Whisky. Dazu ist immer der Roggen präsent, die Eiche rundet den Dram gut ab.
1 Stern Abzug wegen dem doch recht hohen Preis. Den aber alle Staunings haben.

Kommentar: Schöne Kirsch- und Beerenaromen, nach ein paar Minuten im Glas kommt auch der Roggen. Im Mund fruchtig, zunächst dominiert die Kirsche, dann Gewürze und etwas Eiche. Diese verstärkt sich dann im Abgang, der mittellang und mit Gewürzen und leicht pfeffrig/scharf ist. Auch der Roggen kommt ganz zum Schluß nochmal durch, ist aber nicht dominierend. Mein erster Whisky aus Dänemark, heute geöffnet. Der erste Eindruck ist schon sehr gut, mal schauen, wie er sich noch entwickelt. 4,5 Punkte kann ich aber guten Gewissens vergeben.
