The Bushmills Steamship Collection was bottled in honour of the 125th anniversary of the crossing of the steamship 'SS Bushmills'. The SS Bushmills brought the first cargo of Irish whiskey from the distillery to the USA in September 1890. The 4th edition was triple distilled and matured in first-fill Caribbean rum casks.

Geschmack: Hier darf der Malt nun sein tropisches Fruchtpotential ungehindert freisetzen: Ananas, Mango, nachgezuckerte Papaya und brauner Zucker. Mehr Alkoholstärke dürfte hier gar nicht sein (schönes leichtes Mundgefühl mit süffigen und saftigen Akzenten). Eine dezente Vollmilchschokolade (wie in einem DeBeukelaer Keks) setzt ein i-Tüpfelchen auf einen durchaus harmonischen Gesamteindruck. (23)
Abgang: Eher kurz mit einem sanften Ausklingen. Die Früchte verblassen doch recht schnell. Was bleibt ist eine Art Zuckerrohrsaft mit wenig drumherum. Auch die Schokolade suche ich ganz zum Schluss vergebens. Schade. (19)
Kommentar: Der könnte als Rumreifung eine wirklich gut gelungene Komposition sein, wenn der Abgang nicht so verdammt schwach ausfallen würde. Mit lange Nachkauen ist hier nichts zu wollen. Da er dennoch süffig im Geschmack ist, muss man halt einfach öfter am Glas nippen. Habe ich auch so gemacht – die Flasche ist so gut wie leer. (22)
