This Singleton of Dufftown is matured for 18 long years in two types of casks, which give the Single Malt a remarkable depth as well as a successful balance.
It has been distilled in the Speyside town of Dufftown since 1896. A few years ago, Diageo combined its three distilleries Dufftown, Glen Ord and Glendullan under the brand 'The Singleton'.

Aroma: Bonbons, harte alte Nimm 2, die in in der Sonne lagen; fast Pflaumenmus, eine betörende, dunkle Süße; dunklerer Sherry als beim 12er; dunkle roote Beeren, fast etwas Staubiges; dann schöne Komplexität, Eiche, grasige Töne, Zitronenmelisse; spät Kaffeetöne; mehr Gewürz mit der Zeit
Geschmack: kräftige Würze, die grasigen Töne, Eiche; die Süße ist nur sehr leicht dabei; Nüsse, spät etwas Wein; auf den zweiten Schluck doch auch Pflaumenmus, Karamell deutlicher; wieder die "Staubnote"; etwas Vanille
Abgang: im Nachgang wieder sehr schön das Pflaumenmus, die Bonbonsüße, aber auch die Staubnote; Gewürz auch hier, ebenso die grasigen Töne; etwas Kaffee; relativ lang
Kommentar: echt schick! gutes PLV, komplex, anders - könnte aber mehr ABV vertragen

Kommentar: Keinesfalls schlechter als der 12 jährige, dennoch sagt der mir eher zu. Vielleicht auch, weil ich mir von einem 18 jährigen einfach noch mehr Komplexität erhofft hatte.
