Product description
This 14-year-old Bushmills is triple-distilled and undergoes a special maturation process. The single malt whiskey is first matured in first and second fill bourbon barrels and then refined for 12 months in rare Malaga wine barrels. The finish gives the whiskey its ruby red colour and flavours of exotic summer fruits, which are combined with warm and spicy wood notes.

The Old Bushmills Distillery is probably the oldest licensed Whiskey distillery in the world - its licence dates back to 1608. It was officially founded in 1784 by Hugh Anderson in the Northern Irish town of Bushmills. Since then, Bushmills has been synonymous with traditionally triple-distilled, mild Irish Whiskey. Kommentar: Leider konnte mich dieser Bushmills nicht komplett überzeugen. In der Nase und beim Antritt verspricht er sehr viel, doch beim Abgang bleibt für mich ein eigenartiges Aroma hängen, das mir nicht so recht zusagen möchte. Ist jedoch nur mein persönliches Empfinden. Als deutlich bessere Alternative kann ich den 16 jährigen Bushmills Three Wood empfehlen, der zudem preislich inzwischen in einer ähnlichen Liga spielt.

Kommentar: Schmeckt angenehm mild. Anfangs relativ fruchtig und leicht süß, später schmecke ich eher etwas Würziges und leicht holziges bzw. rauchiges. Für mich als Anfänger ziemlich angenehm.
