Product description
Compass Box's Spice Tree uses a specially crafted barrel cross. With lids made of French oak and cask bodies made of American oak, the casks at Spice Tree were burnt out more. The whisky was also matured for longer than usual for this producer. The malts used all come from the Highlands.
The independent bottler Compass Box confidently calls itself a 'whisky maker' and sees itself more as a whisky artist than a producer. When it comes to maturing and blending, the team around John Glaser always tries to break new ground. The production process is passed on to the customer as transparently as possible.

Kommentar: Super Mischung. Der Peat Monster ist eine schöne junge Rauchbombe, wer sowas mag wird den echt mögen. Für mich war es der schächste der drei, liegt aber an meinem GEschmack. Der Spice Tree ist auch sehr gut benannt: Gewüze und Holz satt, aber echt gut gemacht. Virgin-Oak liebhaber werden hier fündig. Der für mich beste der drei war der Spainard, da ich so eine schöne Kombination aus Sherry und Rotwein noch nicht im Glas hatte. Sogar ich als jemand ohne SUpernase kann hier die verschiedenen Fässer erkennen und die Aromen aufschlüsseln. Wirklich sehr gelungen. DIe Kombination der drei Whiskys ist auch sehr abwechslungsreich.

Kommentar: Dieser Blend ist sehr holzlastig, aber im guten Sinne. Man muss natürlich auf Virgin Oak stehen, aber wenn man das tut, dann kann man hiermit viel Spass haben. Die typischen Virgin Oak Noten sind dabei, aber schön harmonisch. Kann man gerne mal machen...
