This 25-year-old Dalmore consists of a special blend of whiskies. The Highlands whisky matured in American white oak casks, aged Tawny Port Pipes and casks previously occupied by 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso Sherry.

The Distillery: Dalmore
Dalmore is a high-quality Highland distillery with a good Whisky and an elegant bottle design. The distillery was long run by the noble Scottish Mackenzie clan. A member of the clan once saved King Alexander III's life while stag hunting by stabbing a deer attacking him at the last second. The king was so grateful that he allowed the Mackenzie clan to bear the royal twelve-tailed stag on their coat of arms. This symbol is still displayed on Dalmore bottles today. It was founded in 1839 and extended very often.

Herrliche Farbe, dunkel und schwer.
Ich lasse ihm etwas Zeit im Glas.
Der Duft umströmt mich.
Sehr intensiv im Geruch.
Fast etwas stechend.
Der hat doch gar nicht so viel Alkohol?
Reife Trauben. Eingelegte Früchte. Rumtopf.
Eine leichte Süße schwebt darüber.
Im Mund ganz weich, sehr aromatisch.
Die volle Wucht des Ports - könnte genauso gut auch alter Sherry sein - entfaltet sich im Mund. Sehr schwer und fruchtig.
Das Fass macht sich erst spät bemerkbar.
Der fruchtige Port dominiert.
Wahnsinn!

Geschmack: mittelintensiv, weich und harmonisch, süße Orange, warme Zuckerwatte, Fino-Sherry-Note + Port-Einfluß, Eßkastanie, Bergpfirsich
Abgang: mittellang bis lang, Fino-Sherry, Eiche umspielt von sonnengereifter Zitrone, Mokka, Kakao
Kommentar: ein Meisterwerk! Und mutig so viel Fino-Sherry Einfluß für den Standard 25yo zu wählen.
