The Glen Garioch Renaissance series presents the different facets of the distillery in four parts. The third bottling '3rd Chapter' matured for 17 years in bourbon and sherry casks and is slightly milder in alcohol content than its predecessor.

90/100 The 3rd Chapter hat schon einen deutlich größeren Holzeintrag.
Aroma: angenehm - Aprikose, Honig, Toffee; voller als das 2nd Chapter
Geschmack: Süße (Aprikose), nussig, Eiche, etwas pfeffrig; in Verdünnung nimmt die Schärfe sogar etwas zu

Trockenfrüchte, Malz, Sherry, Gebäck, Vanille, leichte Alkoholnote, Holz, Orangenmarmelade, Heidekraut, Leder, Tabak, Kräuter, Überreife Frucht, Mandeln, Kamillentee, Vollmilchschokolade. Nach etwas Wasser plötzlich Lavendel, Saftorange

Geschmack: Spices Malt Sherry Oak Chili Orange Alcohol
starke Gewürze, Malz, Sherryfrucht, Eiche, Chilischärfe, Orange, Röstaromen (Steak, Brot), leichte Obstbrandnote, Vollmilchschokolade

Abgang: Spices Malt Oak Orange Dark Chocolate
Laaang. Gewürze, Malz, schöne typische Whiskyabgangsnote, Eiche, bittere Orangenmarmelade, Zartbitterschokolade. Ganz zum Schluss bleibt angenehme Eiche und Schokolade.

Kommentar: Wahnsinnig komplex und gut ausbalanciert. Etwas Wasser verträgt er ganz gut (oft hilft mir das überhaupt nicht). Schmeckt auf die ersten 4-5 Drams innerhalb einiger Wochen jedes Mal anders, wobei die Grundnoten bleiben. Feiner Whisky.

Aroma: butterkeks, kühle vom alkohol, wie minze, aber kein wunder bei dem alkohol. Altes Leder. Verdünnt: honig, kühler Wald, nach dem ersten schluck getrocknete gewürze wie Thymian

Geschmack: angenehmes mundgefühl. Weich, recht süß. Apfelmus.

Abgang: recht lang, süß, keinerlei bitterkeit

Kommentar: guter Dessertwhisky. Wohlwollend 5 Sterne
