This Glen Scotia was bottled exclusively for Whisky.de. The non-smoky whisky spent its maturation period in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez Hogshead.
The Glen Scotia distillery was founded in Campbeltown in 1832. By using traditional copper stills, the fruit and spice aromas typical of Glen Scotia are created.

Aroma: Sehr fruchtig und sehr süss in der Nase; die Früchte sind entweder dunkel, oder es sind helle Früchte, die schon überreif sind, halbvergorene Trauben zum Beispiel, überreife Kirschen; hat einen Touch von Siruparoma, und etwas Caramel; sehr komplex in der Nase.

Geschmack: Schön fruchtig beginnend, sehr reife, fast vergorene Früchte, Weinnoten, ganz leichte Zimtnote, und dann setzt schon bald eine massive Eichenfracht ein, die ihn richtig würzig macht.

Abgang: Die Eichenwürze dominiert voll und ganz den Abgang, der damit recht lange anhält, ohne bitter zu werden.

Kommentar: Toller, komplexer, süffiger, spannender Whisky.
