Woodford Reserve MC Sonoma Triple Finish was created by Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall, who was inspired by previous creations and experiments at the Woodford Distillery. The Woodford Reserve MC Sonoma Triple Finish has two special features. Firstly, the finish in a Pinot Noir cask and the maturation in a brandy cask. The limited edition combines these two highlights from the famous Sonoma County wineries. The wineries matured their red wines in used Woodford Reserve barrels and developed the new genre 'Bourbon Barrel Aged'. Sonoma County wines are characterised by rich vanilla and caramel notes. This fact and the positive reaction of the Woodford Reserve fan community inspired Elizabeth McCall to experiment with different combinations of the three wines and also to refine this Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey in the wine barrels from Sonoma County in which Woodford Reserve was originally stored.

Woodford Reserve is a very unique Bourbon distillery at Versailles, Kentucky, different from others. In contrast to common Bourbon distilleries that work with continuous stills they have three pot stills here to create a triple distilled aromatic Whiskey. Among the Bourbon distilleries in Kentucky Woodford Reserve is the smallest one. And if you look at the nice grey stone buildings in the very charming setting you also may agree that it is the most beautiful one.
