The Aberlour Double Cask was matured in two different types of casks. Besides fruity sherry casks, ex-bourbon casks were also used. After the 16-year maturation, the malts were blended together.

    Kommentar: In der Nase als erstes Sherry und leicht Florale Noten. Im zweiten Beerenfrüchte / evtl.Erdbeere. Alles eingebunden in einer angenehme Eichenwürze.

    Im Geschmack, kräftiger Antritt, dominante Eichenwürze, aber auch Früchte, dann kommen Nüsse hinzu.

    Der Abgang ist mittellang mit Eiche, Gewürz, Frucht und gegen Ende hin sogar florale Noten.

    Der Whisky verleitet einen ein wenig dazu, doch mehr zu trinken als ursprünglich beabsichtigt. ???? Ich will ihn jetzt aber nicht unbedingt als süffig bezeichnen.

    Ich finde, der Whisky passt gut zu einer schönen zartbitter Schokolade oder auch zu einer mittel kräftigen, cremigen Maduro Zigarre.

    Aroma: Typisch Aberlour, viel süßer Sherry, kandierte Früchte, etwas Orange und ein paar Weihnachtsgewürze. Das Ganze schön rund und ausgewogen

    Geschmack: zuerst viel Sherry, dann übernehmen die Weihnachtsgewürze und ein paar Krümel weißer Pfeffer runden das Ganze ab

    Abgang: Ziemlich lang, Die Gewürze und die Eiche halten am längsten

    Kommentar: Ein schöner Sherrymalt, bietet deutlich mehr wie der 12er, ohne preislich abgehoben zu sein.
    Passt gut zu Weihnachten
