Variety Single Malt Whisky
Aroma Fruity sultannins combined with notes of orange peel, dried cranberries, toffee buns and dark chocolate. Blackcurrant and plum jam follow.
Taste Rich and again fruity with hints of chocolate covered sultanas, plus a touch of liquorice and accents of freshly ground nutmeg.
Finish Long and complex with a lingering sweetness.
Region Speyside
Maturation American and European oak casks, finish in Oloroso and PX sherry casks.

Product description
The Aberlour Double Sherry Cask matured for a total of 18 years. Initially, American and European oak casks were used for storage. The Single Malt was finished in Pedro Ximenéz and Oloroso sherry casks, which give the final result a wonderfully mild and balanced flavour with fruity nuances.

Kommentar: An der Nase könnte man stundenlang riechen, extrem angenehm und immer etwas neues zu entdecken!
Auf der Zunge dann nochmal deutlich dunkler mit Trockenfrüchten, Sherry, Zartbitterschokolade und massiver Eiche! Abgang dann ebenfalls mit sehr viel Eiche, dann Sherry und Früchte.
Diesem Whisky merkt man sein Alter deutlich an. Er schmeckt sehr tief und dunkel, bietet gleichzeitig Komplexität. Dafür kann man durchaus einen dreistelligen Betrag ausgeben, wenn man das möchte...
