This Balmenach was brought to market by the independent bottler Douglas Laing in the Provenance Series. The whiskies in this series are bottled in small batches or, as with this bottling, as a single cask. The label contains a short description of the taste. All whiskies are not coloured and not chill-filtered and therefore also bottled at a strong 46% vol.

The Distillery: Balmenach
The distillery was founded by James MacGregor in 1924. At the beginning it was a small farmers distillery with the aim of preserving their barley in the form of Whisky. In 1897 the distillery was bought by Glenlivet Ltd. In 1930 the owner changed again and now it belonged to Scottish Malt Distillers Ltd.
