The Bladnoch The Dragon Series is inspired by the dragon curve, a fractional curve in mathematics that emerges from a simple origin. The Dragon Series is a tribute to the timeless power struggle between science and nature. The series represents the diversity in whisky production and the balance between order and chaos. The Iteration I - The Field bottling from this series represents the origin of Bladnoch whisky. As is so often the case, barley is harvested annually from a farmer's field before it is malted to produce malted barley. It is the main component for the production and the raw alcohol distilled from it is matured in refill bourbon casks.

Bladnoch was founded in 1817 by the brothers John and Thomas McClelland. The distillery is the most southern active distillery there is in Scotland. It lies right next to the river that is also called Bladnoch.
