This 16-year-old Dictador rum is produced from the fermentation of pure sugar cane honey, which is distilled partly in copper pot stills and partly in a continuous steel column still. The South American rum is matured using the solera method, in which older and younger rums are stored together in barrels. The bottling was given a new closure but remains the same in terms of design and flavour. The Colombian producer of gin, cigars and coffee is best known for its rum. Dictador was founded in Cartagena on the northern coast of Colombia in 1913. Great importance is attached to careful production and well-guarded recipes, which are now being continued by the third generation of the Parra family.
