The Glencadam Distillery is located just half a mile from the centre of the Scottish town of Brechin. It was opened in 1825, shortly after distilling was legalised. Today, whisky is still produced there as it was in 1825.

Geschmack: Süß aber nicht pappig, sehr weich mit grünen Früchten auf einer frisch gemähten Wiese. Anders als in der Nase nicht übermäßig komplex.
Abgang: Weicher Abgang, am Ende prickelnd und trockener werdend. Schönes Wechselspiel.
Kommentar: Glencadam, eine meiner Lieblingsdestillen, hat mich wieder nicht enttäuscht. Der 10 Jährige kommt zwar nicht an den ausgezeichneten 13 Jährigen heran, aber für sein Alter und das gute PLV ist er sehr gut gelungen. Die 46% sind deutlich spürbar und sowohl in der Nase als auch beim Abgang. Insgesamt ein sehr zitrusbetonter Bourbongereifter mit wenig Vanile und Malz und dafür einer geballten ladung grüner Früchte. Sehr gut gemacht und unter 40 EUR 4 Sterne wert. Ich bgeam ihn Ende 2023 für 30 EUR, das ist fast unschlagbar.
