Product description
The Glenfarclas 105 Single Malt Whisky expresses the traditional distilling skills of the Grant family and the Glenfarclas Distillery, which has been producing whisky in Scotland's Speyside since 1865. Originally, 105 was produced as a cask strength bottling straight from the cask for family, staff and friends of the Grant family and the distillery, before it was officially launched in 1968 as one of the first cask strength whiskies. The name 105 refers to the British proof value, which corresponds to an alcohol content of 60 per cent. This Glenfarclas matured in a combination of ex-Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez European oak sherry casks, which gave it its characteristic depth and flavour. Although no official age is stated on the label, the maturation period is usually around eight to ten years, which gives the whisky its strong but balanced structure. The taste of Glenfarclas 105 is intense and complex with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit and roasted nuts, accompanied by a distinct sherry sweetness and a warm, spicy oak presence. The high alcohol content ensures an exceptional concentration of flavours and a long, powerful finish that is particularly appealing to lovers of full-bodied Speyside whiskies.

The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay and is one of the best-known and most successful family-run distilleries in Scotland. The owner family Grant is proud of its private status, which is reflected in the distillery's slogan ‘The Spirit of Independence’. Since 1865, the fifth generation of the Grant family has been shaping the history of the Glenfarclas distillery. This long family tradition guarantees consistent quality and the necessary foresight for a long-lasting product such as Whisky.
