This Lagavulin was bottled for the 2023 Special Releases. Themed 'Spirited Xchange', this year's bottlings represent cross-cultural collaboration with a range of Single Malt expressions inspired by countries from around the world. This range of original bottlings immortalises iconic whisky characters with curiosity, passion and Taste. Inspired by the spirit of strength and pride reflected in Lagavulin's more than 200-year history, the Diageo Malt Master explored the famous symbols of the ancient Central American art of tattooing and their historical significance, which is also reflected in the design of the outer packaging and on the label of the bottle.

The Distillery: Lagavulin
The Scottish Malt Whisky distillery Lagavulin is located on the south side of the island of Islay, between the Laphroaig and Ardbeg distilleries. Lagavulin, pronounced Lagga-voulin, comes from Gaelic and roughly means “hollow by the mill”. Founded in 1816 by John Johnston, the Lagavulin distillery is owned by the Diageo group and its whiskies are part of its Classic Malts Selection.

Kommentar: Ich bin ein Fan vom Lagavulin Special Release 12 Jahre. Ich finde den von 2021 jedoch besser. Trotzdem ist der von 2023 natürlich ein Super guter Whisky. Hat die 5 Sterne verdient.

Geschmack: starker Antritt, genieße ihn mit einem guten Schluck Wasser auch hier klassischer Laga mit tollen Nuancen, Kohle, Alkohol, Rauch, leichtes Salz
Abgang: Mittellang bis lang, Tequila Spice und Rauch/Kohle
Kommentar: Hatte ihn bereits 23 gekauft aber erst vor wenigen Wochen getrunken, er war sehr schnell leer und ich habe dies sehr bedauert. Absolute Empfehlung, würde ihn sogar noch einmal kaufen trotz des abschreckenden Preises. Einzigartig im Geschmack würde ich sagen bisher.
