Type Single Malt Whisky
Aroma Smoky with notes of dried fruits, tobacco leaves, eucalyptus and fresh hay. It follows along with sweet accents of golden syrup, toffee, heather honey and crushed black pepper.
Taste Peaty and sweet with hints of grilled pork with sweet honey marinade, plus notes of peach and orange blossom and a hint of earthy floral facets.
Finish Ashy with lingering wood smoke.
Region Islay
Maturation Ex-bourbon barrels and finish in 1st fill Oloroso sherry barrels made from European oak.

Product description
Over the years, outstanding bottlings have appeared in the Laphroaig Hunter series. All bottlings include a handmade book that tells stories from the life of the distillery manager. Each bottling over the coming years tells another chapter of the rich heritage of Ian Hunter, who was the last descendant of the Johnston family and ran the distillery from 1908 - 1944. The fourth release in this series includes a 34 year old Single Malt matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Oloroso sherry casks. With this bottling, Ian Hunter's story explicitly addresses the malt grounds essential to Laphroaig whiskies and how he established them at the time.

Laphroaig (pronounced 'La-froig') means 'the beautiful hollow by a broad bay' in Gaelic. The area around the distillery, which is located on the remote island of Islay (pronounced 'Ei-la') off the west coast of Scotland, is just as beautiful. Aroma: Trockenfrüchte eine dezente Süße mit Noten von Heidehonig, Karamell-Biskuit und Vanille. Dazu schwarzer Pfeffer, Eukalyptus und frisches Stroh

Geschmack: Torfig-süß auf der Zunge. Startet rauchig und würzig mit Noten von gegrilltem Fleisch, Pfirsichen und Orangen. Dazu Vanille, etwas Süßholz.

Abgang: Langanhaltend und leicht trocken, mit einer gewissen Salzigkeit und Holzrauch.

Kommentar: Ein wirklich gute Malt, der dazu einlädt, sich ewig damit zu beschäftigen aber der Preis.
