In Laphroaig whisky, the extreme peat smoke is transformed into more complex aromas with increasing age. In addition to the oak note from the long ageing, these give the Single Malt significantly more depth and complexity. Not chill-filtered and therefore bottled at 48% vol.

Kommentar: Die erste Nase ist doch sehr kräftig und rauchig, Krankenhaus und Mullbinden sind noch deutlich zu riechen, hätte ich vorher nicht so erwartet. Im Mund kommen dann aber auch diese Anklänge von alten Bourbon Fass Reifungen, einfach lecker. Ansonsten hat er alles was ein anständiger Laphroaig hat und braucht.
Ein richtig gutes Ding. Den hätte ich damals auch eingelagert wäre ich da schon dabei gewesen.
Zu den heutigen teils sehr hohen Preisen nicht.
Dieser sehr gute Laphroaig bekommt 4,2 Sterne.

L430257 - verkostet über einen Zeitraum von 15 Monaten. Anfangs sehr verschlossen und fast enttäuschend, entwickelte er sich zum Traum der Träume eines Laffi-Liebhabers und hielt sein Niveau bis zum Schluss-Dram

Aroma: Oak Fruit Spices Pepper Malt Peat Smoke Medicinal Smoke Ham Sweet Vanilla Caramel Maritime Notes Seaweed Leather Dark Chocolate

Geschmack: samtig-seidig-kraftvoll. Ein filigraner, genussvoller Gentleman. Ganz deutliche Töne zartbitter-herb-süssen Lakritzes.
Ansonsten alles drin, was die Nase versprach

Abgang: sehr lang, ölig und intensiv - welche Wohltat

Kommentar: Nachdem er ca. 10 Tage Luft in der entkorkten Flasche geatmet hatte und anfangs wegen Alkohollast und pfeffriger Würze auch Wasser brauchte, war er dann gut 14 Monate lang ein wunderbarer Begleiter allein genossener Whisky-Träume. War mit jedem Dram jeden Cent der 138 € meines seinerzeitigen Preises wert. Ich würde auch bis 250 € angesichts der Preise 2023 noch mitgehen. Schade, dass es den so und für noch halbwegs akzeptable Preise nicht mehr gibt. Weitere Details siehe Symphysodon, dessen Eindrücke ich weitestgehend (etwas andere Erlebnisse beim Finish) teile
