Variety Single Malt Whisky
Aroma Sweet apple compote garnished with caramel biscuits, followed by cereals, tanned leather and vanilla.
Taste Sweet and spicy on the palate with vanilla and sea salt, mixed with savoury meaty notes and freshly ground black pepper.
Finish Long, warm-spicy finish with maritime smoke and oak notes and an oily mouthfeel.

This Laphroaig matured for over ten years in ex-bourbon casks and was bottled without chill-filtering and at cask strength for a particularly full-bodied taste. Only when bottled from the cask is the Laphroaig base-filtered to remove unwanted charcoal particles.

Laphroaig (pronounced 'La-froig') means 'the beautiful hollow by a broad bay' in Gaelic. The area around the distillery, which is located on the remote island of Islay (pronounced 'Ei-la') off the west coast of Scotland, is just as beautiful. Aroma: Phenolisch, sehr intensiv, mit Jod und Seetang. Dazu grüne Äpfel, frisches Schwarzbrot und Lakritz.

Geschmack: Komplex und ölig auf der Zunge. Rauchig mit Szechuan Pfeffer und gesalzenes Karamell. Dazu frische Zitrone sowie etwas Menthol.

Abgang: Langanhaltend und leicht trocken. Ein salzig, süßer Eindruck bleibt zurück.

Kommentar: Für Islay Fans ein muss!
