Product description
Alongside the Coastal series, the Old Pulteney Huddart is the only bottling from the distillery without an age statement and has been part of the standard range since 2019. It was named after the street in which the Pulteney distillery is located. It initially matured in second-fill American white oak casks and was then matured in former bourbon casks that previously contained heavily smoky whisky.

Pulteney
For a long time Pulteney could be called the most northern distillery on the Scottish mainland. When Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso opened in 2013 they took over this title, but Pulteney hasn’t lost its attraction on Whisky lovers. The coastal style of the Old Pulteney Whisky (as the Whiskies from Pulteney are called) is a very unique one and the releases use to be very well judged by the Whisky experts. read more

Aroma: Rauch (erdig, die See), leicht, der sich bemerkbar macht als deutlich salzige (!), mineralische Note! krass! direkt dahinter eine wunderschöne, buttrige, vanillige Süße, Karamell (und trotzdem kein Salzkaramell); sehr eigen - und sehr schön! später eine leicht weinartige, birnige Fruchtnote dahinter; toll

Geschmack: hier mehr vom Rauch, aschiger, weiter mineralisch, mehr von der See, Zitrus; nach kurzer Zeit Karamell, Vanille, Gewürz, Pfeffer, Muskat, ein bisschen Lakritz

Abgang: (noch) mehr von der See-Rauch-Note, ganz leicht salzige Anklänge über zartem Karamell und einer Spur Frucht,
bisschen Asche, Lakritz, Holz, leichte Zitrusschalen; mittellang

Gelungenes Rauchexperiment. Gut für Einsteiger beim Thema Rauch. Durchaus komplex, besser als so mancher teurerer Blend.
