The Peruano Rum of the producer Rum Nation is produced from molasses, which is extracted from ripe sugar cane and distilled on a Scottish column still. The raw spirit is matured for 8 years in a solera-like method, in which the contents of different types of barrels are drawn off and refilled with fresh distillate. The company Rum Nation was founded in 1999 by Fabio Rossi, for whom the different characters of the rum-producing countries are in the foreground. The mostly limited bottlings of Rum Nation are therefore named after their respective homelands.
