This Unnamed Islay Single Malt comes from an unknown distillery and belongs to Signatory's Cask Strength Collection, in which the whiskies were bottled directly at cask strength. They are especially recommended for advanced connoisseurs. 28 Long years the Islay malt matured in Bourbon barrels.

Toller alter Islay-Whisky, der frische Noten (Zitrus, Gischt, Strand, nasse Steine, Petrichor) mit denen von langer Reifung (Bienenwachs, Leder, Melone, ätherische Öle) kombiniert. Alles umfasst von Salz, Ruß, Kohle und einer Mischung aus phenolischem und Lagerfeuerrauch. Für mich ein Lagavulin. Denkbar ist aber auch ein untypisches Laphroaig-Fass.

Aroma: Rauch und Süße. Honig. Das Bourbonfass hat deutlichen Einfluss
Geschmack: Würzig und phenolisch. Zitrusfrucht.
Abgang: Lang. Kalter Rauch.
Kommentar: Ordentlicher Whisky. Aber trotz 28 Jahre und Fassstärke niemals 438 € wert. Vergleichbar gute Whiskies gibt es ab 65 €. Und hier wird nicht einmal der Name der Distillery angegeben. Ich schätze, dass diese Abfüllung noch vor einem Jahr bei maximal 280 € gelegen hätte. Goldene Zeiten für Whiskyhändler.
