Product description
The 1770 Glasgow Red Wine & Ruby Port Cask Finish belongs to the varied small batch bottlings of the Lowlands distillery. For the first time, two spirit styles with two different maturation processes have been combined. One Single Malt is first matured in Virgin Oak Casks and then received a finish in Bordeaux wine casks, while a triple-distilled whisky was aged in first-fill Boubon casks and finished in Ruby Port Pipes. A total of six of these casks were married together, bottled at cask strength without cold filtration and in natural colour.

Kommentar: Tolle Abfüllung, die nochmal ein Upgrade zu den normalen Abfüllungen darstellt. Leider auch deutlich teurer. Für einen so jungen Whisky grenzwertig teuer.

Aroma: In der Nase nur ein leichter Rauch mit wunderbar süssen Aromen.

Geschmack: Jetzt ist der Rauch sehr präsent, aber herrlich eingebunden mit der Süsse und dem Alkohol. Sehr harmonisch abgestimmt.

Abgang: Der Rauch und die Süsse verbleiben lange und intensiv am Gaumen

Kommentar: Ein toller ausgewogener Whisky, der auch auf Islay beheimatet sein könnte. Eine absolute Kaufempfehlung, besonders zu dem Preis.Cherry Bonfire Smoke Oak

Aroma: rauchig-fruchtig, Asche, Erinnerung an leicht medizinische Noten, leichte Mentholnote

Geschmack: rote Beeren, angenehmer Rauch, der am ehesten an ein Lagerfeuer erinnert, zartbitter, Zeder, eingekochtes rotes Fruchtkompott, rote Johannisbeeren - herrliche Mischung zusammen mit dem Rauch, leicht malzig

Abgang: Überraschend anhaltend, Zartbitterschokolade, Haselnuss, malzig-rauchig und die Johannisbeeren verweilen auch im Abgang.

Kommentar: Mein erster 1770 Glasgow - sehr gelungen und der Malt wirkt deutlich älter.
