American oak casks are used to mature the 16-year-old Balvenie French Oak. The Single Malt is then finished for several months in barrels in which wine from the French Charentes vineyards was previously stored. Pineau des Charentes is a fortified liqueur wine. This is made from unfermented grape juice and married with Cognac eau-de-vie, which passes on fruity notes with a gentle ginger spice to the whisky when it is matured in these casks.

Kommentar: PLV nicht optimal und etwas flach zum Ende - definitiv kein typischer Balvenie - aber durchaus ein besonderes Aroma, insbesondere in der Kombination mit Citrus, Süße und Eiche

ent: Balvenie French Oak 16 Years is a distinguished single malt that exemplifies the artistry of oak maturation. Opening with a bouquet of honeyed sweetness and delicate floral notes on the nose, it invites further exploration. The palate is rich and velvety, offering layers of vanilla, toffee, and a hint of cinnamon spice, all balanced by the subtle influence of French oak, which imparts a refined complexity. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of dried fruits and a gentle oakiness that leaves a lasting impression. This expression from Balvenie is a testament to craftsmanship, delivering a sophisticated and harmonious whisky experience.
