This strongly smoky Bunnahabhain belongs to the Un-Chillfiltered series by Signatory, in which the whiskies were not chill-filtered. The Islay whisky matured for 9 years and was refined in a rather rare First Fill Pinot Noir Red Wine Butt.

Ein 9jähriger Bunna mit Rauch aus einem erstbefüllten "Pinot Noir"... oder Spätburgunder (!?) ... für <70€ ist schon eine mächtige Kombination. Für mich auch sehr gelungen.

Aroma: Süßer Rauch und etwas Malz und rote Früchte. Nachdem der Rauch weicht, findet man Vanille und Rotwein. Wuchtige Rauchschwaden steigen von einem lodernden Lagerfeuer auf und vermischen sich mit salzigen Algen. Mit herrlicher Intensität gesellen sich rote Früchte, Salbei, Zimt und feuchtes Moos hinzu.
Geschmack: Vollmundig und vielschichtig mit Cassis- und Erdbeermarmelade, Kirschen und Veilchen. Dazu wuchtiger Rauch, salzige Mandeln, Pilze, Moos und zuckrige Haferkekse. Algenchips, Kräutertee, Nelken und Walnüsse runden den Genuss ab. Kraftvoll und frisch auf der Zunge. Die Süße Getreidenote setzt sich auch im Geschmack fort. Hinter dem Rauch zeigt sich eine fruchtige Komponente mit Waldbeeren und Orangen.
Nachklang: Weiterhin sehr komplex und langanhaltend mit viel Rauch, maritimen Noten, Himbeeren und Kirschsaft. Florale und nussige Akzente schwingen mit. Mittellang und süß. Mit Rauch und etwas Frucht. Dazu Eiche und dunkle Schokolade.
Eine seltene und fruchtige Nachreifung im First Fill Pinot Noir Red Wine Cask für den rauchigen Bunnahabhain. Entlocken Sie dem Bunnahabhain Staoisha Heavily Peated 2013/2023 - 9 Jahre eine Vielzahl schöner Genussmomente. Dunkle Kirschen, schwarze Johannisbeeren sowie frische Kräuter und Gewürze aus dem erstbefüllten Rotweinfass bilden ein angenehmes Gegengewicht zu intensiven Torfraucharomen. Eine erdige Nussmischung und maritimen Noten aus Algen und Meersalz ergänzen die vielfältigen Eindrücke. Abgerundet werden sie von dezenten Erdbeer- und Veilchennoten sowie sanften Tanninen.
