Sehr süß und sehr weich. Leichte alkoholische Note im Abgang.

Wären die abschreckenden Standard-"Tankstellenversionen" von Jim Beam und Jack Daniels bessere Whiskys - es würden viel mehr Menschen unserem Hobby frönen. Das ist meine Theorie. Aber muss unsere goldenen Entdeckungen ja auch nicht jeder mögen. Dieser "Gentleman Jack" wäre/ist aber schonmal ein deutlicher Zugewinn in Sachen Geschmack und Qualität. Wenn auch noch immer etwas entfernt von echt guten Bourbons. Trotzdem den Aufschlag wert.
"Gentleman Jack" ist wie eine Mischung aus Italo-Vanilleeis, leicht feuchtem Heu und Karamellöl. Unkompliziert und zugänglich. Cremig und leicht, sanft und gutmütig. Nicht billig, aber auch kein Luxus. Geht einfach gut runter. Viel weniger kratzig als sein günstigerer Bruder. Ein sympathischer Allrounder. Wenn Nüsse, dann milchig. Wenn Eiche, dann sehr helle.
Fazit: ein respektabler Schritt vorwärts zum "normalen" Jackie. Der Single Barrel (der in meiner Wahrnehmung und Gunst von Jahr zu Jahr steigt) wird aber beispielsweise nicht erreicht. Dennoch ein süß-öliger Marshmallow.
