In the Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series, a new whiskey with a special finish is released every year. For this, barrel-strength, fully matured Maker's Mark is post-matured in experimentally manufactured barrels. Depending on the desired flavour profile, the staves for the barrels are combined for the finish in collaboration with the Independent Stave Company.

The Distillery: Maker's Mark
Makers Mark is on the rise and needs to increase its production capacity. But they don't want to change anything to the production process. So they just multiply their existing production equipment. They already did this around the turn of the millennium with the second still and more fermenters. In 2015 they install a third similar still and even more fermenters of the same kind.

Aroma: süß, Vanille aber auch recht viel Alkohhol
Geschmack: vollmundig süß mit Nuss und Gewürzen
Abgang: hier kommt der Alkohol wieder hervor, aber die süße überdeckt - lang, etwas trocken aber angenehm

Aroma: Intensive Vanille und gewürztes Karamell.
Geschmack: Buttrig mit Pekannusseis und Vanille, dazu trockene Gewürze und Karamellsüße.
Abgang: Lang, rund und trocken.

Geschmack: erst weich, dann rollt die Würze an, es wird warm und süß, buttrig, Karamell, trockene Eiche, Roggenkruste
Abgang: Würze, dann wird es still, der Mund ist wie ausgekleidet und die Schleimhäute pulsieren. Herb und süß zugleich. Am Ende eine Roggennote.
Kommentar: Eine Alkoholnote nehme ich nicht wahr.
Lohnt sich das für das Geld ????? Ich würde es nicht noch Mal dafür ausgeben.
Es gibt andere für die Hälfte und weniger, mit denen ich genauso Spass habe.
