Product description
The village of Port Askaig is located on the north-east coast of the Isle of Islay. It is the village that has been considered the gateway to the island for hundreds of years. Casks from a selected distillery on Islay are chosen for the single malts from Port Askaig. The respective distillery is kept secret and can vary from bottling to bottling. This cask strength single malt was composed from more than 60 casks from a distillery located on the north coast of the Isle of Islay. 25% first fill toasted bourbon barrels and 75% refill American oak hogsheads were used for maturation before the small batch bottling was bottled at 59.4% vol. without chill-filtering and without adding colour.

Aroma: Kraftvoller, dichter Rauch. Malz.

Geschmack: Starker Rauch, Zitrusfrüchte, überreife Grapefruit, leichte Süße mit Malz.

Abgang: Ein Hauch Zartbitterschokolade.

Kommentar: Öffnet sich nach Öffnen der Flasche über 3, 4 Wochen hinweg deutlich. Ein Tropfen Wasser verändert den Geschmack positiv und sorgt für Komplexität mit feineren Noten.Maritime Notes Peat Smoke Grapefruit Malt
