Aroma Apple and pear with herbal notes and fresh fruit, subtle hints of honey and warming spices before the typical Kilchoman peat smoke takes over.
Taste Buttery texture that continues throughout. Facets of dried lemon and apricot combine with cinnamon and nutmeg. Notes of toasted oak and sweet peat smoke follow towards the end.
Finish Dried fruits, marzipan and gentle ginger notes combine to a sweet-spicy result. Peat smoke with nuances of citrus oil lingers a little longer in the mouth and throat.

Product description
Distilled in 2016, Kilchoman Cognac Cask Matured is the distillery's first bottling to be matured entirely in 32 barriques that were previously topped with cognac. The storage in the special barrels and the subsequent vatting bring together fruity notes and a hint of spices with intense accents of smoke. Bottled at 50% vol. and without colouring or cold filtering.

After more than 125 years, the Kilchoman farm distillery is the first new distillery to be built on the island of Islay. At the distillery, which was founded in 2005 and produces a 100 per cent Islay Single Malt, all production steps are carried out on site, from the cultivation of the barley to the filling of the bottles. read more
