Product description
Benriach The Smoky Ten is the slightly smoky version of the new 10-year-old from the Speyside distillery. Like the non-smoky bottling, this one is also matured in three different types of casks: Bourbon, rum and fresh white oak casks. The slightly sweet smoke results from the peat, which is mainly extracted for Benriach from the Scottish interior. The design of the bottle and the tube are based on the original Benriach from the time before its closure in the 90s.

Kommentar: Der derzeit verfügbare Smokey 10 von Benriach ist ein akzeptabler und würdiger Nachfolger des alten Curiositas. Im Vergleich zum alten ist der aktuelle weniger rauchig, süßer, hat einen Ticken mehr Eiche, der Curiositas war vielleicht einen Hauch komplexer, es sind jedoch nur Nuancen. Abgang ist lang, Geschmack, abgesehen vom Rauch, eine Ex-Bourbongeschichte, also helle Früchte, Malz, ein wenig Vanille und Weißeiche. Ich verdünne gerne mit ein wenig Wasser, dann schließt er mehr auf und wird sogar noch süßer.
