Product description
With Smoke Season, the Benriach distillery goes back to traditional production techniques from the 19th century. Peat from the coastal regions of Scotland is not used to dry the barley, as is so often the case, but peat from the Highlands, which releases a sweeter aroma when burnt.

Kommentar: Für mich eine positive Überraschung, da ich hier vorab dachte, dass der Torf eher Marketing und wenig wahrnehmbar (wie nicht gerade selten bei Speysidern mit Rauch) sein wird. Anstattdessen trotz (oder vielleicht sogar gerade wegen) NAS ein wunderbarer vielseitiger Raucher, der in allen Belangen viel Freude macht. Kann man lange, lange im Mund belassen und wirklich viel entdecken. Mir scheint, dass das ausgekohlte Virgin Oak Fass hier einen sehr wichtigen Einfluss hat, wenngleich ich erstmal in der Theorie dachte, es sei Unsinn ein solches Fass, dass noch viel speziellen Geschmack abgibt, auszukohlen. Falsch gedacht und top was Rachel Barrie hier erdacht und umgesetzt hat!
