Product description
This Ledaig is named after the founder of the distillery, John Sinclair. The distillery on the island of Mull was still called Ledaig (safe haven) in 1798. The first bottling of the new Sinclair Series was matured in casks in which sweet-fruity red wine from the Spanish Rioja had previously been stored.

Comment: The colour is intense copper colour is natural.
The aroma is sweet; fruity and vinous traits appear on the nose together with peat smoke: grapes, and red berries. Then a strong marine salinity, oak spices, and vanilla.
On the palate: sea salt, minerality and acidity emerge in the foreground together with peat smoke, but immediately afterwards the fruity notes spread in the mouth.
Rich and oily mouthfeel, the finish is of medium length: sweet smoke, salt, spices, and red fruits.
The unusual fruity sweetness, different compared to the maturation in ex-sherry casks, softens some harshness present in the 10yo and tames its youthful profile, enriching it with new aromas and making the drink suitable for the tastes of many, hence the success it enjoys.
The gentle finishing does not hide the nature of the distillate but enhances it by adding pleasant new accents.
